There are a few words that come to mind when reflecting on the past few weeks: Blessed, Thankful, Worth the Wait, Excited, Happy, Finally…lol…but seriously WOWis one word I am feeling at this moment…so about 2 months ago I went to see Brian Cook to get a handicapped tag for my father’s vehicle and while there noticed Brian had become a realtor…I told him congratulations and when he was ready he could list my house and if he sold it (cause we had been trying for awhile with NO luck) I would take him to Ruth’s Chris Steak House, lol!
Well, July 8th, Brian comes over and we fill out the paperwork and get the “ball rolling” on selling my house…Doug comes home from work and I say oh, by the way the house is for sale Brian is gonna try and sell it for us. Doug is pretty stunned but goes with the flow!!! Brian puts the sign in the yard the following week. He schedules a professional photographer to come take pictures of the house (she did an amazing job) on Monday, July 18th, cause Cole was playing All-Stars and there was no time to get the house ready for photos not to mention showings. The house is ready to list online on Wednesday, July 20th, and by Saturday, July 23rd, we had 3 offers on the table!!! I think I was in a STATE OF COMPLETE SHOCK, lol!!! We accepted the best offer and sold our house in Gretna on August 31st. Once we had an offer Brian helped us look for our new house, we looked in Gretna, Timberlane, Metairie (remember the torrential downpour, we were out there looking for houses and lightning was popping all around I left Doug and Brian and headed for shelter Brian said I don’t think Metairie wants the Gegenheimer’s LOL!!!)
From the beginning, I gave it to GOD…I said where ever we find a house, that fits our needs and budget would be where we would make our new home…well, with Brian’s help we found our perfect home in Covington!!! So with a heavy heart, we have left the Westbank and have moved to Covington. We have a 4 bedroom home in a quiet subdivision and are looking forward to making new memories… I am MOST excited for the fact that after 11 years and 6 months of marriage I can FINALLY hang my wedding pictures AND get all my wedding gifts from my parent’s house!!!Brian, thank you so much for your help, support, patience, guidance and most of all your friendship!!
